Custom Baby Photography Products for Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is just around the Corner!

Mother’s Day only pops up once a year, and this year it will be celebrated
on May 13. Mother’s Day is the one day a year individuals can emphasize
the recognition they have for mothers, motherhood, and maternal bonds in
general. Along these lines, it is a day to focus on the positivity motherhood
contributes to the world. Of course, this is a day full of memories,
reminiscence, and love.

With Mother’s Day literally just around the corner, why not surprise the
mother in your life with a gift she will not forget. Whether you give to your
own mother or the mother of your child, she will be sure to cherish the
products offered by Bitsy Baby Photography.

Mother’s Day is the one day a year devoted primarily to truly honoring the
women in your life. Nothing says just how much you appreciate her and all
she is than a framed print or fine art canvas displaying the beauty of your
newborn child in portrait form. The large canvases are a beautiful addition
to any home especially since they are museum quality. Picture placing a
piece of fine art centered around the beauty of your child in your child’s
nursery or your living room.

For an equally appealing gift, this newborn photographer offers coffee
table albums as well. These are perfect keepsakes that can turn into family
heirlooms, memories to last from generation to generation. The coffee
table albums can include a compilation of an entire session of images.
Consider even a photography session each month for the first year of your
newborn’s life. What a great way to document your child’s growth!

Another option would be 8 x 10 prints with the included linen texture. The
linen texture is sprayed to allow the photo to last even longer and be of
even higher quality than expected. Each 8 x 10 print comes with Ultra-
Violet protection and a styrene backing. These typically make excellent
gifts to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and of course mothers.

Finally, Bitsy Baby Photography offers custom baby announcements.
Each custom baby announcement comes with a large image on the card
highlighting the beauty of your new baby. Consider this as a surprise
welcoming for your newest addition.

baby’s life. Childhood lasts only a brief while, before you know it they are

all grown up. Capture this magical time as you teach your child and watch
them learn. With this newborn photographer, Rita, you will be sure to make
your memories of your child’s beauty last.

Carefree Joy {DC Baby Photographer}

Yesterday I admit I got a little teary eyed as I counted my blessings! Life as a child is full of carefree joy, freedom, laughter, play, and so much excitement in the seemingly smallest of things. Bubbles, a golden egg, bunny shaped marshmallows...all so simple yet to a child so big!

I wanted to share a few of our moments from yesterday. I hope you had a blessed Easter!

such freedom being a child!

My littles: MJ and Lillie
We had to pop into the studio for a quick couple shots =)

And an out take!
Lillie is always looking at Marina - as soon as she walks into the room and starts talking the baby is looking for her.

Baby Photography Tips - Bokeh {MD Infant Photographers}

Baby Photography Tip for the amateur heading pro or the parent wanting some improved baby photos at home!

Have you ever wondered what sets a great photo apart from a good photo? In my opinion the bokeh you can achieve will play a major role here...what is bokeh? This is basically the blurry background, the blurrier the better in my opinion so lets talk about a couple things.

First, you need a lens with a large aperture. How do you know it has a large aperture right? When searching for a lens you will see this for example: Canon EF 50mm f1.4, the "1.4" is the max aperture for that lens. Some lenses are 1.8 some it's 2.5 some it is 4.0. This number is on the side of your lens so take a look and see what yours says. I rlike the following depending on which camera you have and which price point you are looking for: Canon 50mm f1.8 or Canon 50mm f1.4 and Nikon the 50mm 1.8 or Nikon 50mm f1.4. These are prime lenses meaning they do not zoom in and out and they are great for very blurry background shots =)

If you are photographing with a zoom lens, extend it all the way out.

Then your subject should be placed at a distance from your background. If you are photographing your baby in your home or using a wall for the background, for example, try to have them sitting further away from the wall, not sitting right up against the wall. If at the park, same thing, place your baby quite a distance from those beautiful flowers so they can be nice splash of creamy background color in your portrait!

Get as close to your baby as you can while still composing artistically, do not get so close your camera doesn't focus =)

You also want to have a background with some light, spots of light through trees looks great if outdoors.

I hope these couple of things will get you started with having better bokeh and making your images stand out!

Photoshop Tutorial for the Newborn Photographer - Newborn Feet

Post processing for taking the red out of newborn baby's feet!

There are actually quite a few ways to do this. I will go over the method I’ve always used. It’s easy, even if you are new to Photoshop.

Using the lasso tool (top left of the Tools Palette, looks like a rope) set to feather at 10 pixels, lasso the baby’s feet.

post processing with Bitsy Baby Photography

See baby's red feet here:

Newborn Post Processing SOOC

Open the Color Balance adjustment (control B on a Mac or go to the menu at the top & click on Image – then Adjustments – then Color Balance ) and reduce the red and blue by sliding the top slider to the Left (adding more cyan) and the bottom slider to the Left (adding more yellow). This is going to be a different amount for each baby’s feet. For this baby I had both of them at -12.

Should look something like this now:

Newborn Post Processing 2

Open the Hue/Saturation adjustment, (Control U on the Mac or go to the menu at the top & click on Image – Adjustments – then Hue/Saturation) and reduce the saturation slightly by moving that slider to the left. Again, the adjustment amount is different for each baby but typically I find myself reducing by -4 or -5 here.

Now should look something like this:

Newborn Post Processing 3

De-select (Control D on a Mac or go to the menu at the top and click Select – then Deselect) and take a look to see if your baby’s feet blend with the body well enough. If not, go through those steps again until it is as perfect as you like.

Final Image with a couple small additional fixes/enhancements:

Final newborn processing - the feet

I typically do this to all the images where the feet are showing. With practice you will be able to do it in your sleep and it will only take you seconds!

Lillie {DC Newborn Baby Photographers}

Here is a collection of the images we were able to capture with my sweet little Lillie! She was by far not the easiest subject...as a matter of fact she really made us work =) Thanks to April for assisting me and for her great patience with Lillie!!
